Description
Appearance and Development
Weigela is a deciduous shrub with branched stems and a compact form. The leaves are green, elliptical, and serrated. The flowering is abundant, with colors in various shades of pink, red, and white, depending on the variety. The flowers are tubular and attractive to bees and butterflies. Weigela grows relatively quickly and can reach a height of up to 1.5 m. We offer well-developed plants, grown in containers and suitable for year-round planting.
Suitable Location
Weigela is ideal for single or group planting, hedges, and mixed shrub groups. It can also be used in container landscaping.
Growing Conditions
The plant prefers sunny to partially shaded locations and well-drained soils. Watering should be regular, especially during dry periods, but standing water should be avoided.
Planting and Care
When planting, ensure the roots are well spread in the soil. Water after planting to aid establishment. Weigela does not require heavy pruning, but it is beneficial to remove dead and diseased branches. Fertilizing with a balanced fertilizer in spring will enhance flowering.
