Description
Appearance and Growth
Cupressus arizonica 'Fastigiata' is an evergreen conifer trained into a decorative bonsai form. It features a curved trunk and branches arranged at different heights, with dense, rounded foliage pads shaped through careful pruning. Its silvery-blue foliage retains its colour throughout the year.
We offer well-developed plants, grown in containers and suitable for year-round planting.
Suitable Location
Ideal as a standalone specimen in gardens, near entrances, along pathways and in prominent landscaped areas. It can also be used as a focal point in compositions with low-growing ornamental shrubs and perennial plants.
Growing Conditions
Prefers a sunny position and well-drained soil. Once established, it tolerates relatively dry conditions, but prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. When grown in a container, more frequent watering and protection of the roots from severe winter frost are necessary.
Planting and Care
Plant in well-prepared soil with good drainage. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain moderate soil moisture during establishment. Periodic maintenance pruning helps preserve the bonsai shape, avoiding heavy cuts into old wood. Apply a moderate amount of fertiliser formulated for conifers in spring.
